How to embed an external video on Patreon
A file attachment and an embedded video are different experiences. This workflow gives supporters an in-post player while the video remains with your chosen host.
Choose the right input
For your own server, object storage or compatible CDN, obtain the direct HTTPS MP4, WebM or HLS media link. For Cloudflare Stream, you can connect your account and import or upload through the workspace. RedShoreMedia does not import an arbitrary YouTube or Vimeo watch page as a direct media file.
Create the RedShoreMedia video
Use Your server or storage in Library, check the source and save it. Copy the share link shown next to the video. Free supports 25 videos; existing source replacements do not create another video slot. Creator and Business expand the workspace tools; your hosting provider bills storage and delivery separately.
Use the external video option
Open the video-post workflow in Patreon and choose its external/embed URL field. Paste the RedShoreMedia share link rather than the original media URL or the text of an iframe. Patreon uses its supported embed system to resolve a provider link into a player. Editor labels may differ between versions.
Check as a supporter
Preview the post, test playback and seeking and check your intended audience setting in Patreon. Test both the Patreon app and a normal mobile browser. If no preview appears, follow the troubleshooting guide before publishing more links.
Understand the access boundary
Patreon controls access to its post. A RedShoreMedia player link is not an independent verification of a viewer’s paid Patreon membership. Configure link protection and source access appropriately; do not assume that a copied public source file becomes private because it appears in a paid post.
Try your source before publishing.
Start with 25 video links on Free. Storage and delivery stay with your chosen host.
